Huge party plans as Mustang turns 50

The Ford Mustang's 50th anniversary celebrations will be a showstopper for the car community this year and Carmudi, the international car classifieds expert, has been in touch with Ford to discuss the Mustang redesign and their forthcoming party plans.

Paul Robertson, Ford's Middle East marketing director stated: "On 17 April the Mustang turns 50, joining the exclusive club of vehicles that have been in continuous production for 50 years. To mark this in the UAE, we have organised a major parade in Dubai on Saturday, 19 April, headed up by the Dubai Police Mustang Roush vehicle. We expect close to 200 vehicles in the parade, which will go around major points of in the city. This parade will then be followed by a festival-type celebration at Dubai's Meydan Hotel, which will be full of exciting activities and competitions for best-looking, best-customised and best-restored Mustang, in addition to some surprises."

New 2015 model

For Mustang fanatics further afield, Ford and the Mustang Club of America are also teaming up to host two big events in the US in Las Vegas and California, and for fans everywhere, the news that a new model will be released next year to mark the 50th anniversary calls for an even bigger celebration. Ford Mustang lovers should be really excited about the new model, according to Robertson, who stated: "The 2015 Mustang will be all-new and loaded with innovative technologies and delivering world-class levels of performance."

Throughout its long history, the Mustang has often been featured in TV shows, music videos and movies, its most famous outing being in the James Bond film Goldfinger, as well as appearances in Charlie's Angels and the music video for Crazy. "This connection to pop culture has helped to establish the car's huge fan base, not only in North America, but also in several emerging markets. Mustang is not just a car; it's an experience and a symbol of confidence. The fact that the new 2015 Mustang is inspired by its 50 years of heritage will certainly appeal to a broad range of customers," stated Stefan Haubold, Global MD of Carmudi.
