Whoa Mama Loerie's weekend comes to an end

So what's been happening since Friday, Street Parades which unfortunately we missed out on but seems like we didn't miss much, the trendy Velocity Film Pool Party oh and of course the first award ceremony and after party.
Whoa Mama Loerie's weekend comes to an end

We set off late afternoon to look cool by the pool. The party was in full swing when we arrived sexy babes and buff lifeguards patrolled the waters in tight shiny cosies, (the guys in very tight gold hot pants that could rival Kylie Minogue any day). The music was excellent and we were lucky enough to catch a performance by the style of their own-Sweat X DJ duo.

Next it was off to the award ceremony. Saturday night's awards were for the best Design, Advertising Print and Outdoor, Experiential Print Media and Student winners. Click here to see who is making their mama's proud. MC comedian John Vissman, Ready D, talented dancers and the Parlotones kept us all thoroughly entertained throughout the ceremony. The Bizcommunity “Covering the Loeries” streamers proved to be a hit and by the end of the awards the venue was strewn with streamers.

The award ceremony went off without a hitch except for some excitement in the beginning, someone ran on stage to leave a pair of red underwear draped over the podium as the Deputy Mayor of Margate gave his speech. He proved to be one popular dude because next someone else was up on stage to give him a great big kiss. He was totally unafazed by these signs of affection and didn't even bat an eye lid.

Blah blah blah so there was some more partying now it is Monday afternoon (thank god and Loerie's is over) One more award ceremony has passed as well as one more brutal after party. Sunday night awards were for Integrated Campaigns, Radio, TV, Online Advertising and Experiential Electronic and Digital. See who took home the birds (the small gold ones not the female variety) here. The ceremony proved to be a more refined classy affair in comparison to trendy Friday's awards. MC Riaad Moosa kept us all in stitches with his politician turned entertainer gags. Dazzling aerial artists kept us spellbound and an orchestra, choir and triple Diana Ross impersonators supplied the music. Our Bizcommunity “Covering the Lorie's” confetti proved to be a hit and by the end of the awards the venue looked like a cheap Vegas wedding chapel.

The after party, whoa mama it was a big one. Sindy and I started a hip hop recruitment school, we only had one student but he showed much promise. I managed to lose my voice (perhaps its passed out on a sofa somewhere), snap a sun lounger in half like a twig (sorry) and narrowly avoided breaking in to the Pleasure Centre (not anything dirty it was the Margate amusement park) but best left alone just the same. Too much excitement and almost sun rise Sindy and I headed home for ”breakfast”, I guess, only to be invaded by a whole bunch of party rebels. Hehe it was like from a movie a whole group just stormed in (we blame Jo on this one) with an iPod boom box and started dancing they didn't stay long and we were left to eat our noodles in peace.

Right we best be leaving Margate it's been fun we'll be seeing you next year.

Let's do Biz
