Although local LAG's restrictions have softened, when flying abroad we must still each carry no more than one litre made up of 100ml bottles of liquids, aerosols and gels. This means I've had to ditch my usual size of shaving cream and underarm deo.
I'm impressed with the folk at Sea to Summit who make Trek & Travel and who have a large range of dry leaf products that foam up as you wet them. I think the shaving soap is the most useful as all the hotels I stay at supply soap, shampoo and usually conditioner. Although there are 50 leaves in the R50 container, I had to use about four each time I shaved. The only drawback is that you have to remove the sheets with dry hands as even the slightest moisture turns them to bubbly goo.
What I really like is the fact that they're biodegradable.
The pocket towel in their range is an absolute winner. Get the large one for R150 as the pocket towel I tried, about the size of a credit card and as thick as a pack of pocket tissues, needed to be wrung out too many times to dry my ample size. What's incredible is a) how much it absorbs and b) how quickly it dries. I travel with it in case I want to pop into a non-hotel gym or have a swim in the sea. Even the larger one folds so small that it won't make your pants pocket bulge.

I collect sample sizes of the Dermalogica cosmetics I use every time I walk past a sales counter, so that by the time I need to travel, I have a week or two's supply in single-use sachets that are not only free of charge but also really easy to pack. (I store them in moneybags and slip them into my shoes when packing.)
