Escape To Life is one of South Africa's first boutique country villa resorts and has been designed to be conceptually different from traditionalist hospitality thinking. The property has 15 villas, each with four luxury rooms and two attending butlers, a chef and concierge. Each villa is a private venue within the larger collective and it caters for groups and single occupation. Presently, the venue is also creating a day spa on the property while a mobile version is already available.
Proprietor and entrepreneur De Wet Scheffer says that the venue's concept was inspired by identifying a niche need as yet unfulfilled by traditional domestic hoteliers. “We deliver an executive breakaway venue with super premium facilities,” he says. “It has been designed to offer corporates a private destination ideal for high-level meetings.” In terms of the leisure market, Scheffer says that venue's primary market lies in both local and international high-end travellers. “Beyond the facilities, it is the design of our premium experience that will attract,” he adds.
Scheffer plans to market the venue, along with Vaal tourism, aggressively, not only to promote his own venture, but also the broader Vaal area and the premium attractions that it offers. He expects business will assume with an accelerated pace with the mass of foreigners expected during the soccer showcases in the next 24 months.
Pre-sales are already in operation for the venue, and a second venue is already on the cards, with sites presently sought in Gauteng.
