NT Live - Live Theatre On The Big Screen

The 2018 NT Live Season commences on 13 January 2018. Cinema Nouveau theatres nationwide will screen several live theatre performances.

This year, the season kicks off with broadcasts of productions of Young Marx, Sondheim’s Follies, Cat On A Hot Tin Roof and Julius Caesar.

Young Marx

Directed by Olivier and Tony award-winning director Nicholas Hytner, Young Marx reunites the creative team behind the Broadway and West End smash hit comedy One Man, Two Guvnors and is the first collaboration between the Bridge Theatre and National Theatre Live.

Rory Kinnear is Marx and Oliver Chris is Engels, in a new comedy written by Richard Bean and Clive Coleman. Recorded live at the new Bridge Theatre in London. Young Marx is screened on 13, 14, 17 and 18 January 2018.

Follies

Stephen Sondheim’s legendary musical is staged for the first time at the National Theatre and broadcast live to cinemas from 17 February 2018.
Tracie Bennett, Janie Dee and Imelda Staunton play the magnificent Follies in this dazzling new production. Featuring a cast of 37 and an orchestra of 21, it’s directed by Dominic Cooke.

Winner of Academy, Tony, Grammy and Olivier awards, Sondheim’s previous work includes A Little Night Music, Sweeney Todd and Sunday in the Park with George.

Cat On A Hot Tin Roof

Following his smash hit production of A Streetcar Named Desire, Benedict Andrews' revival is screened from 31 March 2018 and stars Sienna Miller alongside Jack O'Connell and Colm Meaney in Tennessee Williams' 20th-century masterpiece.

Julius Caesar

Broadcast live from the Bridge Theatre in London, Nicholas Hytner’s production will thrust the audience into the heart of the action from 21 April 2018.
Ben Whishaw and Michelle Fairley play Brutus and Cassius, David Calder plays Caesar and David Morrissey is Mark Antony.
