The Sun City superbowl reverberated to the same song and dance routine that wowed the audience on the Friday night at the Direct & Effectiveness Awards (old Assegais), and was this time round, compared by Bob Mabena and the svelte Zuraida Jardine, who glittered on stage.
Sun City hummed on Saturday, as the creative industry began arriving for the Golf on Sunday and the main Loerie advertising awards, Sunday night, 3 October - Ferrari's, Porsche's and Audi TTs littering the hotel entrances, along with a posse of SUVs.
This is the first time all the marketing and advertising awards are taking place under one mantel at the three-day Loerie Festival, and the jury is still out on whether the Festival will be classified a total success, as sparse attendance at some of the conference events and the expo of creative work, nullifies attempts to build an all-encompassing Loerie Festival brand and event.
