Other famous names that participated in the Sasfin Bank Sports Quiz included SuperSport United goalkeeper Rowen Fernandez, Vodacom Bulls' High Performance Manager Xander Janse van Rensburg and SuperSport anchor Neil Andrews.
The evening kicked off with the Sports Quiz which was contested by 50 teams of 10 players and concluded with an auction that raised an excess of R250,000 for the Selwyn Segal Home for the Mentally Handicapped. The teams battled it out for bragging honours in the 2 hour long quiz that entailed multiple choice and true or false questions.
Hugh Bauer, group head: Private Client Business Development at Sasfin Bank Ltd was delighted with the response and the amount of money raised for charity.
"Since launching the annual Sasfin Bank Sports Quiz back in 2005, we have raised more than R5 million for charity. We had a full house of eager participants at the Maroela Room this evening that were keen to put their heads together for charity. It was a fantastic event enjoyed by everybody. We can now set about donating the funds to the Selwyn Segal Home for the Handicapped."
Event organisers MSCSPORTS concluded the evening with an auction that featured a host of popular items including a signed Madiba piece, signed Manchester United jersey and Sir Alex Ferguson tribute frame. Neil Jankelowitz, MSCSPORTS joint MD, said the auction has played an integral part in raising funds needed by the Selwyn Segal Home for the Handicapped.

We are proud to be associated with SASFIN Bank in an event that is not just enjoyable but which also makes a significant impact in the lives of the disabled."
