Payroll Accountant - George, Western Cape

Our client is looking for a meticulous and detail-oriented Payroll Accountant to join their finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately processing their payroll while ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and policies.

Responsibilities:

• Process payroll for employees accurately and in a timely manner
• Verify all timekeeping records for accuracy and completeness
• Calculate deductions and bonuses
• Ensure compliance
• Prepare and file payroll tax returns and reports
• Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve any discrepancies
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters
• Maintain confidentiality of payroll information

Requirements: 

• Diploma or degree in accounting, finance, or related field
• Proven experience as a payroll accountant or similar role
• In-depth knowledge of payroll regulations and procedures
• Proficiency in MS Excel, VIP Payroll and Pastel 
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
