She gained interest in photography in 2010 when she attended the Hugo Naudé Art School in Worcester while studying for a Diploma in Visual Art and Design. Therefore Marike started her photographic studies shooting on a 35mm film camera and later moved on to digital. She received Gold for her Photography Eisteddfod in 2011. In 2012 she furthered her photographic studies at Vega School of Brand Leadership, Cape Town to develop her own brand identity and unique style. In 2014 she started her own personal blog to connect with clients and keep followers up to date with her current work. Among her accolades Marike has received the Fresh Cream award in 2013 at Vega and holds a Higher Certificate in Professional Photography and an Advanced Certificate in Professional Photography.
