I have worked for Toyota Manufacturing (Durban) for 35 years, and was fortunate to be involved in the initial implementation of "Toyota Production Systems" in the local operation. During my employ with Toyota I was involved with the introduction of Lean methodologies and have held various Management posts. I have gained extensive knowledge re the Lean (Just in Time) philosophies and have been part of the project teams and Change Management to implement this process. During my period as Change Manager, I facilitated all new projects and presented and trained according to Change Management philosophies. I also opened the first Logistics Dojo training facility at the Durban operation and was trained at Toyota Motor Corporation, Toyota City. Japan.( The term Dojo in Japan relates to an area where one applies one's mind , and is a very disciplined and committed training facility which focuses on Fundamental knowledge to Fundamental skills )I am currently facilitating at Optimum Learning Technologies and SAB Miller re World Class Manufacturing , Operations Management, Performance Management ,Project Management, Leadership Development, Change Management , Procurement and Toyota Production Systems ( Continuous Improvement , Kaizen, Kanban, Standardization, Problem Solving, PDCA [Plan-Do-Check-Act] and Teamwork).I have also been found competent as an Assessor on Unit Standard 115753, Conduct Outcomes - Based Assessment.I have also been found competent as a Facilitator on Unit Standard 117871.The Lean philosophy can be implemented in any type of company associated with a process.
