I am a self-employed, ambitious and hard-working management consultant who mostly did consulting work in the Public Sector. My area of specialty is in: stakeholder engagement and management; contract management; development of proposals; project and programme strategic support, administration, coordination and management; programme and project monitoring, evaluation and reporting; systems analysis; workshop facilitation and presentation; community development facilitation; facilitation of youth and SMME development initiatives; socio-economic assessment; conducting surveys; information dissemination; and providing input to development of sanitation policies as well as implementation of guidelines and strategies.
I started my working career in 1999 as a consultant with IBM South Africa. I then performed desktop support functions to the South African Graduates Development Association. I also worked for the Black Management Forum as a Webmaster responsible for the overall management, support and maintenance of the IT division. I later worked as a consultant providing strategic support to the Departments of Water Affairs and Human Settlements (Three directorates). I recently lead a Professional Service Provider team that was appointed to implement the Sanitation Job Creation Management Support Project of the National Sanitation Programme Unit within the Department of Human Settlements.
I further supported the Water Research Commission (WRC) in conducting a research project to look at challenges related to management of emptying of pits for development of strategies for the management of sludge from on-site sanitation systems (Pit Latrines).
I was also partly involved in the Eastern Cape Rapid Response Unit's work that entailed municipal capacity turnaround through human resource related interventions to ensure municipalities are effective and efficient in carrying out their Water Services Authorities (WSAs) and Water Services Providers (WSPs) functions.
Through Partners in Development team, I currently support the Water Research Commission (WRC) in two projects commissioned to: (a) investigate the practices of open defecation post sanitation provision and soil ingestion; and (b) evaluate the design of existing rural school sanitation infrastructure and then developing a model and guidelines for optimal design. I am also part of Kanyezi Consortium (through Bashomi Consulting and Projects) whose activities entail supporting socio-economic development initiatives within communities.
