The Cyril Ramaphosa Foundation is an independent Public Benefit Organisation that improves lives and creates opportunities through education and enterprise development. It provides a coherent range of innovative interventions, From Classroom to Boardroom, that develops education and small and medium enterprises for an inclusive, empowered society.

The Foundation develops and pilots projects and programmes, building replicable models, that respond to global development objectives and South Africa's National Development Plan (NDP). The Foundation implements its mission through its implementing partner entities:

  • Adopt-a-School Foundation
  • KST
  • Cyril Ramaphosa Education Trust
  • Black Umbrellas

Adopt-a-School Foundation partners with Government, the private sector and individual benefactors to implement its Whole School Development model at some 209 schools (as at April 2018) to improve the governance, academic, infrastructural and social environment of schools. KST, a collaboration between Kagiso Trust and Cyril Ramaphosa Foundation, leverages the best practices of each organisation's Whole School Development programme on a district-wide basis in the Free State where, as at April 2018, it is active in some 238 schools. Cyril Ramaphosa Education Trust (CRET) is a holistic bursary support and youth development programme that awarded 65 bursaries in 2017. And Black Umbrellas develops SMEs through nationwide incubators that, by April 2018, had achieved R2.6 billion in collective turnover by its incubation clients and had created and preserved 11 679 jobs.

By April 2018, the Foundation had invested over R343 million and leveraged an additional R913 million through its partner entities to make for real change in education and enterprise development.
