In a release dated Monday 16 April 2012, the
SABC announced that its board met to discuss the matter of group executive of news,
Phil Molefe and his special leave. According to its statement, Molefe was placed on special leave due to issues that pertain to HR policy matters and it is therefore strictly an operational matter.

SABC has claimed in a press statement that its team has been commended by the Parliament's Portfolio Committee on Communication (PCC) for the work achieved in the short space of time since its new task team's implementation. This followed the corporation's presentation on Tuesday 6 March 2012, on recent developments and action taken since the Auditor General of South Africa (AGSA) report in September 2009.

SABC for its series of letters to both the chair and board, the
SOS Coalition members have therefore decided to picket the corporation on Thursday, 24 November 2011, 1pm-2pm. The coalition urges interested parties to bring a placard and wear red and black.

[Chris Moerdyk: @chrismoerdyk] When the new communications minister was shifted out of her role as deputy minister of the department last year and into the presidency, I wondered if she breathed a huge sigh of relief. And I wonder now whether she is really as happy as she seems about going back, in spite of being promoted to full minister?
