Creative Dialogues to imagine African futuresThe Stellenbosch Academy of Design and Photography will host Creative Dialogues: Imagined Futures, a series of talks and panel discussions from 11-13 June 2019. The event will focus on the future of creative industries within the Africa context and bring together creatives, artists, advertisers, designers, curators and academics from primarily South Africa, Mozambique and Zimbabwe to share perspectives and expertise.     2019 applications open - BA Honours in Visual CommunicationApplications are currently open for the 2019 intake for the BA Honours in Visual Communication program. The year-long degree is designed to produce industry-ready innovative critical thinkers who are able to create meaningful and professionally executed work, which can challenge conventional visual communication thinking. The degree comprises three subjects: Creative Practice, Contextual Studies and Visual Studies. Within Creative Practice students work closely with their lecturer to produce a body of work within their major (Graphic Design, Photography, Art Direction, Illustration or Multimedia).     For the past three years, the Stellenbosch Academy of Design and Photography has had at least one finalist in the student category of the Sony World Photography Awards. Student finalists each receive the latest Sony Alpha series camera, are flown to London for the award ceremony and workshops with the judges.
