Traffic Information Coordinator

Company: Freeway Management Systems - Tolcon Group 
Location: Transport Management Centre - Goodwood 
Reports to: TMC Manager

Qualifications and skills:

• Grade 12 or equivalent 
• Diploma or degree in communication, journalism, public relations/ admin
• Media relations or crisis
• Minimum 3 years working experience in Media Liaison or Public Relations 
• Excellent written and verbal communication 
• Knowledge of public sector communication protocols 
• High level of attention to detail
• Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills 
• People orientated personality 

Responsibilities:

• Manage all media, public communication, and stakeholder engagement activities (briefings, interviews, press release) 
• Ensure accurate, timely, and strategic distribution of traffic information, incident updates, road safety campaigns and planned roadworks
• Report submissions and admin duties 
• Duties relating to traffic and incident communication 
• Develop and implement crisis communication plans
• Stakeholder engagement 
• Understanding of freeway operations and traffic incident management
