Data Analyst

We are seeking an experienced and analytical Data Analyst to be assessed for a potential data and analytics engagement. The successful candidate will have strong technical expertise in data analysis, reporting, dashboard development, data pipelines and Azure-based integrations.
This opportunity is suited to a results-driven professional who can translate complex data into meaningful business insights, support data-driven decision-making and contribute to the delivery of reliable, scalable analytics solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Analyse complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, anomalies and actionable business insights.
• Develop, maintain and enhance reports, business intelligence dashboards and performance metrics.
• Support the development, optimisation and monitoring of data pipelines and ETL processes.
• Contribute to Azure-based data integrations and analytics solutions.
• Perform statistical analysis and data modelling to support business reporting and decision-making.
• Implement and maintain data quality controls, validation processes and data governance practices.
• Collaborate with technical teams, business stakeholders and subject matter experts to translate business requirements into analytical solutions.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, integrity and reliability across reporting and analytics platforms.
• Document analytical methodologies, data processes and reporting requirements.

Qualifications and experience:

• A relevant NQF level 7 qualification in Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics or a related field.
• At least five (5) years of relevant professional experience in data analysis, business intelligence or a related discipline.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, Python and R.
• Experience in statistical analysis, data interpretation and insight generation.
• Proven capability in data quality management, data validation and data integrity controls.
• Experience with data pipelines, ETL processes and data integration.
• Exposure to Microsoft Azure data services and cloud-based integrations.
• Advantageous Skills: Experience with Power BI, Tableau or similar business intelligence tools.
• Familiarity with Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Microsoft Fabric or related Azure data services.
