UX & UI Manager

Job description

A high-growth international business is looking for a hands-on UX & UI Manager to lead the design and user experience across a portfolio of websites, shaping seamless and engaging digital journeys across every touchpoint.

This is a senior role suited to someone who combines strong UX strategy with polished UI execution and enjoys taking ownership from concept through to delivery.

You will drive the end-to-end website experience, improve how users move between platforms and set the standard for design across the portfolio. The environment is entrepreneurial and fast-paced, ideal for someone proactive, commercially minded and comfortable building within ambiguity.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Own the design of our website portfolio end-to-end, leading projects from discovery and ideation through wireframing, prototyping, visual design and final execution with engineering
  • Take ownership of the parent journey - the overarching user experience that connects our websites - ensuring consistency, coherence and a seamless flow across properties
  • Define how individual sites relate to one another within the wider ecosystem, balancing the needs of each site against the holistic experience
  • Partner closely with product, marketing, content and engineering teams to translate business goals and user needs into well-crafted web experiences
  • Conduct and commission user research - including interviews, usability testing and data-informed analysis and turn insights into design decisions
  • Build and maintain design systems, patterns and guidelines that scale across the portfolio and keep the sites visually and functionally aligned
  • Set the quality bar for UI craft across the portfolio: typography, layout, interaction design, accessibility, responsive behaviour and visual polish
  • Use analytics, heatmaps and conversion data to continuously refine journeys and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Advocate for the user and for design thinking across the business, influencing roadmaps and digital strategy
  • Identify opportunities proactively, spotting problems worth solving, proposing solutions and driving initiatives without needing to be asked

What we’re looking for:

  • Significant experience designing websites, with strong UX and UI skills - equally comfortable in a research workshop and pushing pixels in Figma
  • A portfolio demonstrating shipped web work across the full design lifecycle, ideally including multi-site or portfolio-level thinking
  • Demonstrable experience owning cross-site or end-to-end user journeys, not just individual pages or flows
  • Experience leading projects end-to-end, managing competing priorities and collaborating with cross-functional teams
  • An entrepreneurial, self-directed approach, takes initiative and moves fast 
  • Strong communication skills: able to articulate design decisions, facilitate workshops and bring stakeholders along
  • Fluency in modern design tools (Figma or equivalent), prototyping and design systems
  • A solid grasp of responsive design, web accessibility (WCAG) and the practical constraints of designing for the web
  • Experience working with analytics and data to inform design decisions
