So long, Shaka

Talk Radio 702 and sister station 567 Cape Talk have decided that they will get along without freelance host Shaka Sisulu after he was appointed to the national task team of the ANCYL, but he's not commenting. Meanwhile, on the recruitment side, social recruiting is claimed to be a powerful new way of finding hard-to-reach candidates as talent increasingly shifts online. This is the first in a series of articles on the subject. On the subject of newspapers, according to the latest AMPS, SA newspapers are holding their own, but some genres of magazines are taking strain. Still on the subject of newspapers, Colin Ramparsadh takes issue with Sunday Times' lead story published yesterday. His issue? The fact that Oscar Pistorius' partying was judged to be more newsworthy than race issues at the JSC, Nkandla, and a few other stories that he reckons are far more newsworthy stories and had a much greater claim to make the front page. I agree with him. On the international front, some research in Europe has seen the question being posed: Is the ad industry ready for technology-centric media planning and buying? Finally, we've said it before, and we'll say it again... Think before you post... Fail to do so and you could end up paying lots of your hard-earned green and crinkly to someone who the court has found you wronged. Rod Baker: Content Director PS Take a look at the latest Ornico ad showcase.
