Thought Leadership Digibate focuses on 2012 Biz Trends Report

The 2012 Biz Trends Report, which was sponsored this year by Aegis Media, was the main focus of the online media marketing sector discussion at the fifth Thought Leadership Digibate held recently in Joburg. Meanwhile, Theunis Botha, leader of the Christian Democratic Party, says that Western Cape Premier Helen Zille must resign after Public Protector Thuli Madonsela found that a communications tender awarded to TBWA/Hunt Lascaris in 2010 was provisionally invalid. Unfortunately, there are not many politicians in this country or anywhere else for that matter who do what we might expect them to do in this sort of situation. On the other side of the pond, yet more proof that SA's creatives punch well above their weight: SA has won Gold and Bronze at the One Show Interactive - and we were up against almost 3074 entry pieces from 52 countries around the world. Congratulations to the winners! In probably one of the most damning criticisms to date around the Protection of Information Bill, an IFP MP, Albert Mncwango, said yesterday that the Bill is 'worse than apartheid'. So he could find that the saying "a week in politics is a long time" has a ring of truth to it, then. Finally, some good news... thanks to adspend, community TV stations have turned the corner. That's what you get with efficient management and financial discipline. Rod Baker, Content Director
