Founded in 1996, Scan Display is a leader in the Southern African exhibition, events and retail display industry, specialising in award-winning exhibition stands, retail displays, and event and exhibition infrastructure.

The company's product range extends from large custom-built stands and portable systems to banner systems, brochure holders, display cases and shopping kiosks.
Scan supplies the full range of exhibition and event services including shell scheme, carpeting, electrics, furniture and audio visual equipment.
Scan's motto is Value Creation, with the team viewing each project as an opportunity to find innovative ways to add value to the end product.
Scan Display has branches in Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban, Port Elizabeth and Gaborone, and an international network of partners through IFES (International Federation of Exhibition & Event Services) and EDPA (Exhibit Designers and Producers Association). Scan's managing director, Justin Hawes, is represented on the IFES board as Treasurer.
Scan is an active member of local industry associations such as: SAACI, EXSA, SATSA, TPSA, Proudly South African and Event Greening Forum.
In 2012, Scan won an unprecedented eight Exhibition & Event Association of Southern Africa (EXSA) Stand Awards - the most any company has won in a single year. In the same year, Scan was a finalist in the Loeries Awards and won a Bronze Award in the international Exhibitor magazine's Best Green Stand awards programme.
Scan Display is committed to empowerment. The Scan Display BEE Trust has been established to empower previously-disadvantaged staff members who are involved in the day-to-day running of the business. Through the Trust, these staff members collectively own 27% of the company.
Scan works closely with a number of SME companies such as The Soweto Sewing Company, Siyabonisa, Future Link and Easy Couriers, to stimulate their growth and development.
Scan's commitment to empowerment was recognised by Fedhasa's Imvelo Responsible Tourism Awards programme: In 2012 Scan was a finalist in the Most Empowered Tourism Business category.
Scan Display is committed to promoting sustainability in the exhibition, events and retail display industries. Scan encourages clients to use green stand design principles and eco-friendly products, including biodegradable carpeting, LED lights and reusable fabric branding.
Scan Display's managing director, Justin Hawes, was instrumental in the formation of the Event Greening Forum, which promotes sustainable business practices within the South African events industry. Justin is currently chairperson of the Forum.
In 2013, Scan received the UFI (The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry) Sustainable Development Award. This accolade highlights the company's commitment to green practices in its operations.
