The team sheet is in: Public Sector Leaders Summit 2026 names its strongest line-up yetSouth Africa doesn't lack talent, it lacks a system that puts the right players on the field at the same time. On 18-19 August 2026, the second annual Public Sector Leaders Summit does exactly that, bringing a deputy minister, an Eskom group executive, The Presidency's CFO and the C-Suite Executives of Gautrain, SABC and PSETA onto one stage at the Indaba Hotel & Conference Centre, Fourways, with the full programme for The Delivery Playbook now confirmed.  Day One, "Turning Policy Into Performance, Promises Into Progress," opens with a keynote on ethical leadership and rebuilding public trust from celebrated SA leader, businessman and attorney Dr Mathews Phosa, followed directly by Mkhuleko Hlengwa, deputy minister of transport, on mobility as a public service,how access to jobs, healthcare and education is decided long before anyone reaches a bus stop or a train platform. From there, the sessions get straight to the money questions. A panel on whether South Africa can spend its way to better infrastructure brings together Chrissy Dube (Good Governance Africa), Dr Lungile Binza (COO, SABC), Vinesh Maharaj (NTT DATA) and Sanett Uys (Afroteq Advisory). CIMA hosts a session on the next generation of public sector finance leaders. And a panel on fixing service delivery in real time, water, energy, transport, housing, features Len de Villiers, Eskom's Group CTIO, alongside Beverly Nkwana, chief financial officer at The Presidency of South Africa, Jennifer Reddy (CEO, Morar Incorporated) and Rolf Canto (Old Mutual). Day Two, "Putting People First," opens with the CEOs of PSETA and the NYDA on turning youth skills into public sector impact, before Tshepo Kgobe (CEO, Gautrain Management Agency), Yvonne Mothibi (CEO, IRMSA) and Ziaad Suleman (CEO, Cassava Technologies SA & Botswana) discuss “The CEO’s Mandate” and what it actually takes to lead turnaround in a complex environment. The day builds toward economic inclusion and community safety: unlocking SMMEs through procurement with Sanlam's chief transformation officer Thandeka Nkambule, Mandla Magwaza (ASBD) and Tiekie Barnard (Shared Value Africa), and a fireside chat on strengthening public sector finances for the long haul. "We keep hearing that the government can't deliver, and keep proving that's not actually true. The Revenue Service did it, our banks and telcos do it every day, and the Springboks do it on the biggest stage in the world," said Ralf Fletcher, CEO of Topco Media.
