Q1: Did you travel on any South African toll road during any of the holiday periods, or for any major sporting event, during the past twelve months, since Jan/Feb 2009? (Yes / No)
Q2: Can you recall having received any promotional material at any of the toll plazas? (Yes / No)

Key Findings:

Age
  • Those with vehicle/s in household who travel on toll roads, are most likely to be 16-49 year olds, skewed towards 35-49 age group
  • Recall of receiving promotional material are above average from age 25, particularly 25-34 year olds
Gender
  • Those with vehicle/s in household who travel on toll roads and who recall receiving promotional material are most likely to be males who are also the drivers of the vehicles
Province
  • Among those with vehicle/s in household, travelling occurs above average from Gauteng, Limpopo/Mpumalanga
  • Recall of receiving promotional material is well above average in Gauteng and tends to be below average in all other provinces

Household Income

  • Those with vehicle/s in household who travel on toll roads and who recall receiving promotional material are most likely to have a monthly household income of R10,000+

LSM

  • Those with vehicles/s in household who travel on toll roads tend to occur from LSM 6 up, peaking in LSM 7 to 9
  • Recall of receiving promotional material are skewed towards LSM 9 and 10, but particularly to LSM 10
