Construction Site ForemanMy client has two openings for a construction site foreman in the Garden Route area – one in George and one in Mossel Bay. Position overview:The construction site foreman plays a crucial role in overseeing all on-site operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance with regulations. This position requires strong leadership skills, technical knowledge, and the ability to coordinate various teams effectively. Salary: R25,000 – R60,000 (depending on experience within the construction industry) Responsibilities:- Supervision: Direct and supervise all on-site activities, including workers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Scheduling: Develop and maintain a comprehensive project schedule, ensuring timely completion of tasks and adherence to deadlines.
- Quality control: Monitor work quality and ensure that all construction meets the required standards and specifications.
- Safety compliance: Enforce safety protocols and regulations to create a secure working environment. Conduct regular safety inspections and address any hazards promptly.
- Material management: Coordinate the delivery and storage of materials on-site, ensuring proper inventory management.
- Problem solving: Address any issues or conflicts that arise during the construction process, finding effective solutions to keep the project on track.
- Communication: Maintain clear and open communication channels with project managers, subcontractors, and workers to relay instructions, updates, and changes effectively.
- Documentation: Keep accurate records of daily activities, progress reports, and any incidents that occur on-site.
- Equipment management: Oversee the use and maintenance of construction equipment, ensuring proper functioning and safety standards.
- Team leadership: Provide guidance, training, and support to on-site personnel, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Requirements:- Proven experience as a construction foreman or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, techniques, and safety protocols.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and construction management software.
- Physical stamina and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- OSHA certification or willingness to obtain one.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications or training in construction management are a plus.
