ASSISTANT STORE MANAGER – RETREAT: CPT SOUTHERN SUBURBS

This position requires a high-energy, self-motivated individual with strong people management skills and the ability to lead and manage the store and staff.

The successful applicant must be comfortable with operating independently and with working in a fast paced environment that is results-oriented and where performance is tied to turnover goals.

Together with the rest of the management team, you are responsible for the overall management of the store. You deliver sales goals year-over-year by motivating, developing, and empowering your team. You hold your store team accountable for providing exceptional customer service. You recruit, select and develop the best talent for your store. You ensure operational excellence in your store to maximize sales and profitability. You care about and value people and exemplify our core values.

Duties & Responsibilities

To meet store sales targets and deliver fantastic customer service whilst effectively planning, organizing and controlling all operations of a retail store in accordance with the Company’s standards and procedures.

Achieve growth and hit sales targets by successfully managing, mentoring, and leading staff.

Enforcing and implementing AWESOME customer service to give customer a WOW experience.

Attend to unique and individual shopping needs of each customer and always put the Customer first.

Develop, motivate and inspire respective teams in an ENTHUSIASTIC manner.

Maintains store staff job results by recruiting, coaching, counselling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.

Authorise all work schedules (including but not limited to work, break and leave).

Ensure continuous training and development of all staff, and consistently carrying out training.

Scheduling and assigning employees and following up on work results

Handle customer complaints in a calm and professional manner

Managing and controlling all daily store operations to maximize sales turnover whilst keeping stores expenses within allocated budgets and stock management.

Minimise all controllable expenses and costs.

Protect company assets and minimise all shrinkage, damages and theft.

Executing of physical plans/ actions to achieve desired sales results and sales turnover, including motivating staff to do so.

Retain records of all stock and financial transactions.

Conduct floor walks regularly and initiate replenishment of stock and changes as per VM/ OPS.

Implement, monitor and enforce all SOP’s.

Maintaining visual merchandising and housekeeping standards.

Enforce effective and efficient implementation of all sales promotions.

Identify marketing opportunities and communicate to all relevant parties

Ensure promotions are executed timeously and execution is planned in advance.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Requirements:
  • 2 – 4 years’ experience in Retail Management
  • Strong organizational and written/verbal communication skills
  • Spend the majority of time on the selling floor, which requires physical activity (i.e., prolonged standing, lifting)
  • Flexible to work long retail hours/ and over weekends
  • At least 2 years of experience as a manager of store of comparable volume and complexity.
  • Excellent Managerial Skills
  • Financial Understanding of Retail Profit Factors
  • Understanding Stock Control
  • Integrity & strong honest character

Skills / Duties:
  • Computer Literate (Retail systems)
  • Proven Retail management experience
  • Excellent Customer Relations skills
  • Highly organised with the ability to adapt quickly to change
  • An excellent understanding of retail
  • Proficiency in stock management, cost control and cost management
  • Genuine interest in the MAMBOS brand and products
  • Ability and willingness to work weekends and extended retail hours
  • Own transport
