Job description

We’re looking for a switched-on, hands-on, methodical, organised, personable and enthusiastic account manager who will be responsible for the delivery of key accounts in the agency and to deliver infectious results.

A methodical and quick thinker experienced and well versed in digital media. The role is a hands-on opportunity; allowing you to deliver compelling multi-disciplined digital solutions across a wide variety of digital media channels. Working with the media team, client teams and agencies, you will be experienced in being able to work with teams and client on briefs and developing the best communication solutions towards media teams and clients. 

You will be focussed on delivering solutions and quick turnaround times to high volume digital media briefs and organising information in the best possible way in order to provide clients what they need and ensuring media teams can implement. 

You will demonstrate outstanding written and verbal communication skills, working directly with our clients.

Responsibilities 

Origination of briefs:
  • Working with the account director, client and partner agencies to create clear digital media briefs in order for specialist teams to proceed with media strategies
  • Having the ability to clearly define what we require to take on briefs / new campaigns
  • Working close to media teams on turn around times to ensure alignment and collaboration on implementation and turn around times
  • Involvement in the creative development process and briefing that into media teams
  • Working closely with the account director to ensure smooth and relevant translation from strategy to plan 
  • Assess, identify and recommend creative solutions with internal teams/teams outside of the agency providing creative
  • Working closely with the marketing manager (where relevant) to ensure campaign/briefing information is 100% complete - budgets, targets, etc. 
  • Consistently managing client expectations 
  • Making use of briefing templates and working processes
  • Creating media plans where relevant 
Management of the implementation process and client relationship management
  • Origination of detailed briefs for relevant third party units working with the account director.
  • Day to day organisation of the implementation process. Ensure brief is delivered/brought to plan, within appropriate criteria (budget etc)
  • Collation and reporting of competitive data (when relevant).
  • Timely delivery and upkeep of all relevant reporting systems and templates (media plans, contact reports, status reports).
  • Post campaign reporting along with media teams that quantifies the value of the media strategy.
Development and direction of account exec/assistant if applicable
  • Clear delegation and clarity when it comes to all basic tasks so AM is able to step up taking on more responsibility from AD.

Requirements

  • Three years of related experience in a digital agency with driving client relations and business goals
  • Proven ability to manage long term, multi-million rand engagements with multiple project tracks and teams
  • Ability to interact with clients of all levels and industry backgrounds
  • Firm understanding of project management processes and methodologies
  • Strong understanding of digital media, cross channel campaigning and digital media strategies
  • Proven ability to manage and set client expectations
  • Being able to solve problems in short turnaround times and gaining client trust
  • Strong knowledge of digital project implementation including:
    • Cross channel digital media. understanding of UX, design and technologies
    • Ability to translate client needs into clear direction for teams and review the output in order to meet client expectations.
  • Proven track record of satisfied large scale clients
  • Ability to manage and mentor
