A technology consulting company situated in central Johannesburg is recruiting a Business Analyst to work within their financial services client on a 6 to 12 month contract.

Job Purpose:

To apply a set of tasks and techniques used to work as a liaison amongst stakeholders in order to understand the problems, opportunities, needs, structure, policies and operations of the organisation and to recommend solutions that enable the team to achieve its goals. To deal with tactical aspects of discovering, validating, documenting, and communicating business-process-related knowledge in line with the business strategy.

Role, Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Reports progress on tasks and deliverables assigned through regular feedback sessions
  • Delivers requirements and process outputs on time as per requirements schedule and budget,
  • Understands stakeholder wants and needs by applying relevant techniques.
  • Participates in stakeholder identification and analysis through the application of the appropriate techniques (i.e. organisational modelling, process modelling).
  • Builds and maintains stakeholder relationships to ensure active involvement of all parties where required.
  • Provides process guidance and support as required
  • Conducts business analysis according to the following industry body knowledge areas:
  1. Business analysis planning and monitoring; Strategy Analysis; Elicitation and collaboration; - Requirement analysis and design definition; Requirement analysis lifecycle management; and Solution evaluation.
  • Conducts agile business analysis according to the strategy, initiative and delivery horizons
  • Conducts process modelling, analysis, design and performance management according to industry body specifications
  • Applies relevant business analysis and process engineering techniques and competencies according to multiple deliverable methodologies.
  • Keeps abreast of legislation and other industry changes that impact on role by reading the relevant newsletters, websites and attending sessions.
  • Understands and embraces the Company’s Vision and Values by demonstrating the values through interaction with team and stakeholders.
  • Contributes to the achievement of team goals by ensuring own contribution and participation.
  • Creates and manage own career through guidance and support of management, department and colleagues.
  • Improves personal capability and stay abreast of developments in field of expertise by identifying training courses and career progression for self through input and feedback from managers.
  • Ensures personal growth and enable effectiveness in performance of roles and responsibilities by ensuring that all learning activities are completed, experience practiced and certifications obtained and/or maintained within specified time frames.

  • Producing accurate work records and reports

Relevant Tertiary Degree/Diploma:
  • Certification in Business Analysis from one of the IIBA™ Endorsed Education Providers (advantageous)
