Based within the head office in Randburg of this medium-sized business enterprise, you will be tasked with the development of new business on the African continent. 

Language proficiency:

  • Fluency in Portuguese or French would be advantageous for consideration as you will be required to travel extensively on the African Continent
  • You will be responsible to create strategic client and business relationships, retaining and developing business and sales, service and support into the African continent.

Nature of business:
  • The company is involved in the import and distribution of industrial, "ruggedized" products into Africa
  • The company specialises in the support, implementation and provision of network communication backbones for major vertical markets such as Power, Rail, Mining, Marine, CCTV, Solar, Wind and Water
  • Applicants need a proven track record in the ability and skills to work proactively and independently in an ever-changing fast-paced environment


  • This position will prove to be both lucrative and extremely satisfying as it challenges the candidate the opportunity of strategically developing new sales and business relationships, while nurturing and growing existing business into the entire continent of Africa
  • The company will pay a lucrative Basic Salary (negotiated during the interview process) and commission will be earned according to target-based achievements
  • Once travelling into Africa, all necessary business-related expenses will be remunerated accordingly
Industry experience required:
  • Industrial automation industry is preferred. However, Technical Product Training will be provided by the company 
  • Industrial infrastructure solutions
  • Smart grid applications, such as renewable energy, substation transition and distribution
  • Understanding of the engineering background
  • Some understanding of PoE based solutions
  • Selling, designing, supporting, and implementing the above solutions
Minimum qualifications:
  • Diploma or N+ Course
  • Computer / IT / Networking background
  • Experience in procurements utilising software (SAP software an advantage)
  • Sound experience in presentations (use of software) and training
  • Sound understanding of industrial solution, industrial computing, serial connectivity, IP surveillance and remote Automation
  • Understanding of industrial solution, industrial computing, serial connectivity, IP surveillance and remote Automation
  • Confident and eloquent communication in English plus Portuguese or French would be advantageous
  • Minimum of 4 years' external sales experience in the industrial automation industry
  • Must be a South African Citizen with ID and valid passport
  • Ability to travel in Africa
Job duties and responsibilities :
  • Quotations (and weekly follow-ups)
  • Liaising with customers (daily)
  • Data capturing into CRM system and Invoicing
  • Conduct research (products, updates, customers and industries)
  • Create achievable sales targets and achieve weekly meeting targets
  • Attend tender meetings
  • Travel into Africa and grow the African market
Salary on Offer:

The salary on offer Is R 25 000 - R 35 000 Basic (negotiable) - Plus lucrative commission potential. Subsidised medical aid and pension (after completion of probation period)
