Location: Cape Town Work model: On-site (new campus, on-the-ground role while it's being built out). Need to be able to legally work in SA to be considered. Salary: R50 000 – R70 000 CTC per month About our client:
An education partner on a mission to empower artisans across Africa is opening a brand-new campus in Cape Town, delivering a world-class apprenticeship. It's an optimistic, startup-minded business that values honesty, accountability and getting stuck in, and this campus is their next big chapter. Why you'd want to work here:- Genuine impact: you'd be building a brand-new campus from the ground up, not maintaining someone else's
- Real seniority: the most senior seat on-site, with the trust to shape how the campus runs
- A mission worth backing: training the next generation of artisans and helping close the skills gap
- An honest, collaborative culture: speaks up, works together, no micromanaging
- Group life cover, medical aid contribution and stock options, plus a flexible leave policy with time off over the annual shutdown
What the job involves:- Leading all campus operations end-to-end: facilities, scheduling, systems and compliance
- Shaping and executing campus strategy in line with the wider business's direction and growth goals
- Building relationships with employers, partners and stakeholders across the Western Cape
- Leading, developing and supporting every team member on campus
- Keeping a close eye on programme delivery, and troubleshooting when things go off track
- Managing the campus budget, tracking performance and flagging risks early
- Spotting growth opportunities: new programmes, partnerships and employer relationships
- Being the face of the business in Cape Town, and feeding learnings back to Head Office
What you need to be considered:- 3–5+ years in an operational leadership or campus/site management role
- A proven track record managing diverse, multi-functional teams
- Comfortable in a lean, fast-moving environment where structures are still taking shape
- A strong people manager who holds accountability without micromanaging
- Financially literate, confident having budget conversations
- A clear communicator who can turn strategy into action
- A curious generalist, happy to get into the detail of every function
Bonus points if you:- Have experience in education, training or workforce development
- Are already based in, and connected to, Cape Town's communities
