Affiliate Manager| Remuneration: | R55000 - R90000 per month cost-to-company | | Location: | Johannesburg, Rivonia | | Remote work: | Some remote work allowed | | Job level: | Senior | | Type: | Permanent | | Company: | The Make it Good Company |
Location: Johannesburg (Rivonia) preferred; open to remote for the right candidate Work model: Hybrid — two days a week in-office, core hours 9am–3pm Salary: R55 000 – R90 000 CTC per month (depending on experience), plus a strong performance bonus structure About our client:Our client operates in the eSIM and international roaming space, helping travellers stay connected wherever they land. They run two sides of the business: a B2B arm supplying eSIMs at a fixed rate to banks and other global partners, and a B2C travel eSIM brand, which is where most of this role's focus will sit. It's a new, high-pressure, startup-paced environment — the affiliate function doesn't exist yet in-house, so you'd be the one building it. Why you'd want to work here:- Full ownership from day one: this role has been outsourced twice before and it didn't work, so the mandate here is real, not theoretical
- You're joining a business that's just closed a funding round and is scaling fast, with plenty of runway to grow the channel
- No team in place for this function yet, so you'll be building it your way, not inheriting someone else's system
- Genuine upside: a bonus structure built around the growth you drive, not a token add-on
- A fast-moving, communicative team — good energy if you like pace over process
What the job involves:- Owning affiliate strategy end-to-end and deciding how the programme scales
- Managing the affiliate platform (Awin or equivalent): commission structures, publisher onboarding, reporting
- Vetting affiliates and publishers to keep fraudulent or low-quality traffic out of the programme
- Managing the affiliate budget, including calls on high-value placement deals with major partners
- Building and maintaining partner relationships globally, not just in South Africa, given the international nature of the product
- Coordinating with the company's existing PR agency where relevant
What you need to be considered:- Hands-on experience running an affiliate programme on a recognised platform (Awin, Impact, or similar)
- A proven track record of growing an affiliate channel, with real, specific detail you can speak to
- Sharp judgement on vetting partners and spotting fraud risk before it costs the business
- Comfortable owning a budget and making commercial calls, not just executing a plan someone else set
- Thick-skinned and resilient — this is a fast-paced, direct-feedback environment, and you'll need to hold your own in it
- Strong communicator, able to build relationships with partners you'll rarely meet in person
Bonus points if you:- Have a background in gaming, betting or fintech affiliate ecosystems
- Come from an adjacent, highly networked field (e.g. PR) with strong global media or blogger relationships, even without direct affiliate-platform experience
- Have a network in travel or fintech affiliate communities
