Sisters with Blisters 2011 supported by 5000 women, men and kids!

Jacaranda 94.2's Sisters with Blisters, in proud association with 1st for Women Insurance Brokers, took place at The Campus in Bryanston on 26 November 2011.

A capacity crowd of 5000 sisters, misters, kids and dogs flooded the streets of Bryanston in a firm protest against the abuse of women and children in South Africa.

A phenomenal R500 000 was raised on the day, with R250 000 donated to each of this year's two charities: Women and Men Against Child Abuse and the Sonke Gender Justice Network. These organisations both provide first class care and support to women and children who are affected by abuse.

Singer Nianell, mom of triplets Jade, Kaeley and Tayden, and model Lee-Ann Liebenberg with daughter Gia, supported Sisters with Blisters 2011 with a host of other celebrities, as well as Madiba's right hand lady, Zelda la Grange.
Zelda was appointed as the chief Patron of Sisters with Blisters in 2011. Having worked in the Office of President Mandela, she is currently the Executive Personal Assistant to Madiba at the Nelson Mandela Foundation - a sister with impressive credentials and a heart to match!

Kevin Fine, station manager at Jacaranda 94.2 thanked the station's listeners, sponsors and media for their support in making Sisters with Blisters 2011 a success.

Robyn Farrell, managing director of 1st for Women Insurance Brokers also thanked everyone involved for stepping out, speaking out and making their voices heard.
