Developer of Google SA a guest speaker at CSIR conference

Technology futurist, self-confessed serial entrepreneur and technology start-up Angel investor, Stafford Masie, will be presenting the keynote session during the ICT symposium at the CSIR's fourth biennial conference. His topic is titled 'Wealth creation and social impact: The key to a digital advantage'.
Developer of Google SA a guest speaker at CSIR conference

Masie is famous for developing and launching Google SA. He spent eight years in the USA where he played a significant role in the open source software arena and he has been responsible for global partnerships and corporate technology strategies for numerous international territories, including Brazil, Argentina, Venezuela, the Middle East, sub-Saharan Africa and southern Europe. Masie was a country manager for Novell South Africa.

He is involved in several leading-edge technology start-ups. One of his projects is the open source electronics prototyping platform, Arduino. Masie also founded a company with submarine telecommunications cable operator Seacom called Pamojo.

The CSIR conference is taking place on 9 and 10 October and its aim is to share the latest science, engineering, technology and innovation work done at the CSIR in response to national priorities. Entrance to the conference is free and people can register at www.conference2012.csir.co.za.
