In Blood comes to Cape TownIn Blood, a musical production staged by African Sinakho Arts, will be staged at the ArtsCape Theatre in Cape Town from 19-21 September 2013. Written and directed by Bukelwa Cakata, conceptualised and co-produced by Ndileka Santi, this showcase for the wide-ranging talent and commitment of a cast of 80 performers with various disabilities will share the limelight with able-bodied dancers. In Blood's Cape Town performances is a continuation of a national tour that was launched at the State Theatre, touched Mpumalanga at Mbombela Civic Theatre in April and made a stop at the Eastern Cape PE Opera House in August last year. It was also featured at the Durban Playhouse during the festive season last year. The production seeks to entertain audiences with a unique blend of originally composed vibrant songs, popular traditional wedding songs, drama, contemporary dance, poetry and much more. The central concept of human bloodIn Blood is a unique entertainment musical themed around the central concept of human blood, the source of life and sustenance that keeps us all functioning from day to day, that essential substance that is common to us all. This serves as a unifying thread that underlines a very real sense of commonality between the performers and their audience. |
