Eastern Cape MEC to tackle audits

"Qoboshiyane has instructed the department's superintendent-general, Stanley Khanyile, to convene a meeting with mayors, municipal managers, chief financial officers and supply chain managers of municipalities which received poor audits from the Auditor General," department spokesman Mvusiwekhaya Sicwetsha said.

The meeting would be held within 14 days. Qoboshiyane would then decide the type of intervention needed for each municipality. "The meeting would also deal with the consequences of non-compliance," Sicwetsha said.
