Rainbow Chicken to change its name

Poultry producer Rainbow Chicken (RBW) is to change its name to RCL Foods Ltd‚ if shareholders approve a resolution to this effect which will be put to a general meeting of shareholders on 2 August 2013.

Rainbow‚ which in April acquired a 64.2% stake in Foodcorp and upped this shareholding to 88.1% in July‚ said the new name would better reflect its vision as a consumer focused business. Foodcorp is one of SA's leading manufacturers of branded and private label food products.

If approved by shareholders‚ it is anticipated that the company will commence trading on the JSE on 2 September under the new name "RCL Foods Limited" and under the new JSE share code RCL.
