Global breweing giant SABMiller (SAB) has signed a cooperation agreement with Swedish brewer Kopparberg Brewery AB for the long term licensing of Kopparberg cider products in selected markets.
All Kopparberg cider products‚ including Pear and Naked Apple‚ will be available for distribution‚ and the cooperation will take place in various markets where Kopparberg does not have an existing interest‚ the brewer said on Tuesday, 18 June 2013.
The first SABMiller operation to sign an exclusive local distribution agreement is Australia‚ and others will follow in the coming months.
Kopparberg Brewery was founded in 1882 and owns one of Sweden's best known cider brands. It distributes to over 40 countries worldwide‚ including the UK‚ Scandinavia‚ and Australia‚ and also produces water and beer products alongside its cider range. Kopparberg is listed in Sweden on the NGM Nordic MTF.
SABMiller is one of the world's largest brewers with brewing interests and distribution agreements across six continents. The group's wide portfolio includes global brands such as Pilsner Urquell‚ Peroni Nastro Azzurro‚ Miller Genuine Draft and Grolsch‚ as well as leading local brands such as Aguila‚ Castle‚ Miller Lite‚ Snow and Tyskie.
