Founded in 2001 in Bogotá, Colombia, Bomba Estéreo describes its music as "electro vacilón" or "electro tropical", in which it combines traditional Colombian music with electro to interpret everyday urban problems. In July 2009, Nacional Records released "Blow Up" for the US, taking the group around the world towards international recognition. More recently, the band collaborated with Levi's Jeans for their Pioneer Sessions programme, with the band covering Technotronic's "Pump Up The Jam". MTV also named the band, "The Best New Band In The World", in 2010. Between 2011 and 2012, Bomba Estéreo kept touring the world in support of their "Estalla/Blow Up" and finishing the recording process for their third album "Elegancia Tropical", launched in second semester of 2012.
