The Egoli Heritage Foundation is a small non-profit organisation that actively lobbies for the protection, conservation and promotion of Johannesburg's manmade heritage. We are constituted of a small group of volunteers representing activists from various disciplines and backgrounds. Our main purpose is to ensure that Joburg's rich architectural and cultural heritage is recognised and protected in terms of the provisions of the National Heritage Resources Act (NHRA). We believe that the greatest obstacle to realising the objectives of the NHRA is low public awareness and commitment. To this end we are looking for a corporate social investment partner from among the advertising and creative agencies based in the city (of course, we won't say no to Cape Town) who share our passion for all things Jozi. Be it Vilakazi Street, Park Station, Baker, Ansteys or Ponte you can help make people think twice. What we offer We will give you all the recognition and support you may need. You might even be awarded with a Blue Plaque (or a Loerie). Once the core concepts, messages and collateral are in place we will use our volunteers and partners (including the Heritage Portal) to run with things - and of course you're welcome to hang-around. What we need Hell, we'll even do bumper stickers, flash mobs and golf balls. The catch Your city needs you. So go on, give a little.
