Lions cancel US tour

Relegated Super 15 team, the Joburg-based Lions, face going into a Super Rugby playoff in July this year without any considerable practice after cancelling its scheduled US tour. The playoffs will determine the teams re-entry into the 2014 Super 15.

According to the Guardian, the Lions cancelled the tour because of "uncertainty over the quality of opposition and the cost of travelling." The team was set to face a North American All-Stars team in California and Texas this April.
