Virgin Active, MiWay and Strate are SA's best employers

The Deloitte Best Company to Work For Survey‚ now in its thirteenth year‚ named the companies whose employees consider them to be the best employers in South Africa‚ Botswana and Namibia‚ as well as at a southern African regional level.

"It was encouraging to see that many of southern Africa's leading employers continued to support the survey‚ which many now regard as an essential source of workforce intelligence measuring key indicators such as the sense of confidence in an organisation‚ ethics and integrity‚ performance and recognition and career development‚" said David Conradie‚ director at Deloitte.

The top ranked companies were:
Motor Vehicle Accident Fund of Botswana, the overall winner as well, was also the best parastatal tan award unique to Botswana.
Ohlthaver & List was the leading company in the large-company category and Motor Vehicle Accident Fund of Namibia was ranked top in the medium-sized category.

The top companies at a southern African regional level were Ohlthaver & List‚ MiWay Insurance and Strate.

South African based companies who emerged as the best employer in their sector were:
Business and Professional Services: VIP Payroll;
Chemical and Pharmaceutical: Medtronic SA;
Manufacturing: Parsec;
Financial Services - Insurance: MiWay Insurance;
Information Technology: Microsoft SA;
Mining: Kumba Iron Ore;
Tourism and Leisure: Flight Centre.
