OFM Radiothon raises R1.1 Million

OFM in association with the Solidarity Helping Hand Fund hosted a twelve hour radiothon to raise much needed funds for the workers and their families of the Pomodzi mine group in the Goldfields and North West province.

A confirmed total of R1,1 million was raised within the twelve hours of the live broadcast . The Helping Hand fund will use the pledged money to purchase food and basic hygiene products. All will be made up into food packages and assisting with other basic needs like medical and hygiene products.
The 12 hour radiothon was presented by the OFM presenters from 6am to 6pm. Presenters kept on reminding their listening audience about the campaign and the worthy cause it was going for. Clients, listeners and even local municipalities came on board to support the campaign. Monetary pledges were taken by a call centre, trucks were parked at central points in the station's broadcasting region and even an on-line auction was in place - all to assist with the raising of the funds.
