It was a typical grey autumn day in Cape Town, but not even the drizzle could deter the avid golfers who took to the River Club's greens earlier this month for the annual Cape ABF Crazy Golf Day.
After tucking into a delicious breakfast spread, the teams, armed with a small arsenal of putters and drivers, were ferried onto the course to play their nine holes. The groups were a mixed bag of golfing old-timers and first-timers, some of whom flew down especially from Joburg, which made for some entertaining rounds. After much driving, chipping, hacking and hysterics, the players made their way back to the 19th hole for a fabulous lunch, before being treated to some pointers by the pros. Although, given the amount of time spent digging balls out of bushes and bunkers during the game, most of the players probably wished the lessons came first, as even the more experienced players admitted to learning a thing or two during the golfing workshops!
