BlackBerry crash leaves millions in the lurchMillions of BlackBerry mobile phone users in Europe, the Middle East and Africa had there services disrupted when a server in Slough, Britain is believed to have stopped working, prompting an outage that prevented users from browsing the Internet, receiving emails or sending instant messages. Research in Motion apologised for the problems but said that the outage did not appear to be the same for all users. The company issued a brief statement saying it was "working on the problem" that was impacting BlackBerry services in a number of countries in the region. By late on Monday afternoon all services were restored. Christa Botha, the company's South African spokesman said that the server crash did not affect all users.
