Murumba Marketing is working in partnership with a local municiplity to organise an AIDS event.

HIV/AIDS in South Africa

South Africa may be one of Africa's strongest economies, but the HIV pandemic has weakened the nation, taking a severe toll on its adult workforce. With one of the highest HIV prevalence rates on the planet (Over 20% of the population aged between 15 and 49 is HIV positive), South Africa has witnessed the devastating effects of this disease further stretch the resources of a public health system already stretched to capacity.

Given that HIV/AIDS affects every sector of our society, all initiatives – awareness campaigns, care for the affected and research – are strengthened by a partnership approach.

The strength of local communities can help fight the epidemic by supporting those affected by HIV, and helping community groups and local NGO's to better build and utilise skills and resources for improved care and prevention.

Murumba Marketing Communications takes this opportunity to invite you to partner with us in an effort to fight this epidemic An AIDS event is scheduled to be held in Thohoyandou (Limpopo) to increase information awareness, promote preventative measures and to offer support to the infected and affected.

Name of event: AIDS Awareness Campaign 2007

Theme: Increasing the awareness of Support groups and overall HIV/AIDS awareness

Date: 24 November 2007 (Saturday)

Venue: Thohoyandou Town Hall

Start time: 10:00 am (Doors open at 08:00)

End time: 16: 00 pm

Target audience:

• Youth
• Adults
• The community at large (both infected and affected)

We require your assistance in order to provide the following items for the event:

• Information pamphlets (about 10 000 copies to be distributed) Sponsors will be able to advertise on the pamphlets.
• T-shirts and caps for volunteers (about 1000 volunteers expected at the day of event) Sponsor's logos and company names will be printed on the items.
• Overall logistic costs incurred in organizing the event(transport,Food,).
