Campaigning for Cancer launches websiteCampaigning for Cancer, the pioneering African advocacy conference is pleased to announce the launch of its official website. The website located at www.campaign4cancer.com addresses cancer advocacy and provides online reference materials. Added to this, the website creates important linkages between cancer advocates and activists in various regions to form lasting partnerships and mentoring relationships. “This website is not a standard website but an information and educational tool for cancer advocacy in South Africa. This interactive communication tool creates a platform for public debate,” says Lauren Pretorius, the non-profit organisational consultant. Cancer Advocacy will be addressed for the first time in South Africa through a conference with a specific focus on advocacy, which is set to take place from the 5th – 7th October 2007, at the Forum Campus in Bryanston, Johannesburg. The focus of the conference is to create a platform to discuss and challenge the various issues that make up the cancer advocacy landscape. About Campaigning for CancerCampaigning for Cancer was conceptualised by a group of people who have all been touched by cancer.
