Sponsorship to help our youth

The “My Life” programmes require sponsorship to provide a sustainable positive change in the social evolution of our youth.

In the game of life, you have a choice to either play the game or sit on the side lines, and because we want our children to play, and we want them to play well and because we want children to be happy and successful, support and encourage this with “My Life” programmes.

I have recognised that due to the current socio-economic and educational trends in South Africa there is a gap in the social development of our youths, and I stress, that this gap is not biased, it is not gender specific, class specific or cultural specific it is a gap that is being filled by the media, internet, mix-it, gangs, sex, drugs and many more unhealthy glamorised past times. It is this gap that is the source of our current social issues; poverty, crime, disease, and lack of responsibility and accountability.

The “My Life” programmes have been developed to provide a support structure for parent/s, caregivers, and educators that will focus on the “softer” yet very important life skills issues that address the challenges specifically faced by our youth today, with the ever changing temperament of the country and the need for our youth to adapt and succeed in an environment that is not the same as it was last year, last month, last week or even yesterday.

The “My Life” programmes aim to provide a sustainable positive change in the social evolution of our youth. To assist our youth to become personal leaders by taking responsibility for their unique situation and being held accountable for the development and implementation of their own success.

We aim to reach 1000 youths in the first year and build that up to reaching 5000 youths a year within the next five years. Ultimately I want to be able to reach every child as they reach matric, prior to entering the “real” world.

This 6 month life-changing experience will be done in partnership with local schools, churches, youth organisations, community centres and libraries, and will be facilitated by fully trained youth life coaches.

A sponsorship of R 40 000.00 will provide bursaries for ten youths, their parent/s and educators to attend the fully comprehensive six month programme, this will include the provision of workbooks, hand books, material and completion certificates.
We will be requesting bursary sponsorships on an annual basis from corporates.
I initially started as a life coaching practice and soon realised the need for specific focus at youth level. In my work as a volunteer in the impoverished areas and working with the youth it has become clear that our youth do not believe themselves capable of achieving anything in the long term. My purpose is to develop a sense of achievability and pride in their abilities.

This is my dream, I want to be able to provide a support structure for every youngster in South Africa to be allowed to dream and be given every opportunity to make it a reality, and in so doing alleviating the most pressing issues of our society today.
