The dramatic new route of the sixth Absa Cape Epic presented by adidas, which takes place next year from 21 to 28 March, was announced at the event's annual Charity Gala held at Montecasino recently.
The race, the biggest of its kind in the world, offers local and international mountain biking enthusiasts the opportunity to participate in an eight day mountain bike race of 743 km, which again finishes at the Lourensford Wine Estate. Former rugby professionals, Breyton Paulse and Marius Hurter, ex-soccer star Mark Fish, former Blue Bulls coach, Mike Bayly and Owen Hannie, of 5FM and Supercycling fame, have commenced their training for next year's event, in a bid to raise funds for JAG Sports and Education Foundation.
