Raising donations for the aged: Five cyclists, 439km, one day!It has never been attempted before but now for the first time ever, five Victoria Falls based cyclists will ride a record 439km from Victoria Falls to Bulawayo in just 24 hours, in an effort to raise funds for the plight of old age pensioners in Zimbabwe. For many various reasons, large amounts of old age pensioners in Zimbabwe have found themselves destitute and alone and although there are organisations in the country assisting where possible, budget constraints often mean assistance is minimal. Brent Williamson, a young Zimbabwean cyclist and 3 time winner of the Zimbabwe Iron Will, and his fellow cycling friends will brave the dusty, dry, harsh, mosquito infested heart of Matabeleland South, Zimbabwe on 7 June 2007 for not only a chance to make history but a chance to offer a better quality of life to those less fortunate than themselves. The team of five are still appealing for additional sponsorship - any contributions will be greatly appreciated. 100% of all funds raised by this initiative will go straight to S.O.A.P (Save Old Age Pensioners).
