Eat Out recommends Rust en Vrede

Last week the 2010 Eat Out Restaurant Awards were presented to the winners out of the shortlist of 20. The three major awards - Restaurant of the Year, Service Excellence and Chef of the Year - went to Rust en Vrede and its chef, David Higgs. Newcomers to the awards, Jordan Restaurant and DW 11-13 achieved 3rd and 5th place respectively. The ceremony also launched the 2011 issue of Eat Out magazine, published by New Media.

The Lannice Snyman Lifetime achievement award, sponsored by Paarl Media, went to Walter Ulz for his 35 years of service at Johannesburg's Linger Longer. While the restaurant celebrates its 50th
anniversary in 2011 most notable is Ulz's invaluable contribution to the culinary industry and his enthusiasm and passion for cooking.
