Volunteer Wildfire Services seek broadband internet connection

This database will run on their website www.capefires.com allowing members to sign in and update their details, view their fire hours, needed and existing skills, their active status, etc. It will also log information about individual uniform and equipment issues and fire-standby and training hours.
It is critical for the unit to have a permanent internet connection at their base in the Newlands fire base (Newlands Forest) to allow for state-of-the-art fire-line reporting and monitoring, assisting the fire superior with planning and resource management.

Further sponsorships of laptops with 3G for field GPS download and internet upload are also sought after.
