HPCSA Public Awareness Campaign

In order to fully discharge its mandate of Protecting the Public, the HPCSA is conducting public awareness campaigns in various provinces throughout South Africa. These campaigns provide a platform for the HPCSA to engage on issues pertinent to the public. The roadshows are held countrywide and the HPCSA will thus be hosting its first public awareness campaign in the Eastern Cape province in Port Elizabeth.

The focus of the awareness campaign will be amongst others; inform the public on the role and responsibilities of the HPCSA, educate the public in terms of their rights as patients in relation to the Health Practitioners. Another mandate of Council is to enforce compliance by practitioners in line with the provisions of the Health Professions Act, 1974. This awareness campaign will educate the public on how to identify bogus practitioners.
